Update: telling my parents

And I need some ideas.

We are going out to dinner with my parents and siblings tomorrow night. DHs idea is to go ahead of time and have the restaurant put inserts in the menu with 'Tonights specials' announcing our pregnancy.

What kind of cute stuff can I put on the 'Menu'?

ETA Thank you to everyone for suggestions. We have a menu, thank you to google. lol We wrote the item with a little description of the item (since it was taken from an actual baby shower menu online).

Special Delivery Chicken 14.95

Green Bean Bundles of Joy 7.95

Bringing Home Baby Carrots 6.95

2 am Feeding Snack Bars 9.95

You can put baby foods liked "creamed" veggies and mashed fruits or you can make everything "baby" something... like veal with baby carrots... stuff like that?

Or have a custom cake made in 2 layers. One pink, one blue.

Have it for dessert. When they cut it, "surprise".

Thanks all. We are doing part of my family with the menu idea tonight. I'm so freaking nervous it is crazy.

His family is tomorrow. We got his dad a shirt for his bday that says Grandpa est. 2011. It's their first grandkid.

It was rather anticlimactic.

DH went earlier and gave them the menus and the flip video camera.

We get to the restaurant and everyone is at the bar. I said "ok, let's sit, I'm hungry, I'll get my drink at the table". My sister decides to order there at the bar. Half the party goes to the table. I turn to the waitress and say "ok, just wait until everyone is seated to put the menus out" her: "oh, they are already at the table" me: So I dash to the table and half the people are standing yapping, the others are reading. DH is telling me to sit. Then my sister comes over to hug me because she read fast. DH grabs me to stand up. I just bust up laughing and say Which is it? Stand up? Sit down? Shut up? lol Then my mother walks over and hears my brother read the bun in the oven special and refused to read the menu wanting to know what he said.

Totally not what I envisioned. Still totally a ton of fun.

Note to others wanting to do this idea... make sure they wait to put the menus out otherwise it is very unorganized.

Next up.... his parents tonight. His dad is already saying he isn't going to the restaurant because he doesn't feel like it.
