If you are selling a condo does the management company have to approve the details that are stated in the real estate listing?

No - I have never encountered that.
Even with a co-op, where the sale itself is subject to approval of the co-op board, no one (other than the seller) needs to approve the listing. In my experience, the co-op board only gets involved AFTER the seller accepts an offer from a potential buyer, not at the listing stage.
