XP - Go For it or Walk Away - UPDATE

I posted this on the career board but thought I'd post here also.

I think I know the answer to this but I still need to hear it.

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and was looking for a job aggressively before finding out I was pregnant. My old boss just called me with the inside track for a new job. Would you pursue it or walk away?

I can't emphasize enough how much I HATE my current jobn situation and we're at the point that HR is going to need to get involved. I have not come out with my pregnancy at my current job yet.

UPDATE

So another job that I had interviewd for before I found out I was pregnant just offered me the job. It's $4k less than what I make here but 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I think I will take it.

i would pursue it if it were at a company you liked working for especially since you dont like your current job.

If you're that unhappy with your current job I would totally go for it!

Good luck!

Re: XP - Go For it or Walk Away

I'm just afraid that they'll hate me if they hire me and a month later I tell them i'm pregnant.

Part of me feels bad..like I'm being decieving.

I really am in a tough work sitatuon at my current job,and was actively looking to leave....I hate feeling stuck here and having to go through another pregnancy here.

Re: XP - Go For it or Walk Away

go for it. you can potentially work the next 31-32 weeks in your new position, and then go out on leave. you will have learned your new job by then, and have a handle on everything.

I would go for it.. and perhaps other ladies can correct me.. you don't have to disclose your pregnancy at the interview..

What is their policy of leave.. at some places you must work for 1 year before you become eligible for the 12 weeks..

eta: you are not decieving anyone.. you are being offered the job for your professional credentials, so don't think like that Chat Icon

that's awesome. Even with the paycut, it's probably worth it. So glad that worked out because I know how much you hated your work situation. This is a good thing Chat Icon
