Amagansett - where to eat and what to do
We are possibly going to be spending a weekend in Amagansett this Spring, before the summer crowd arrives.
What are some good places to eat there (particularly for breakfast)? What are some fun things to do?
When does their farmer's market open for the season?
TIA!

I was definitely going to suggest the farmer's market, it's the best! I'm not 100% but I think it's open year round. Some of the places on my list that I haven't visited are Mary's Marvelous (a cafe and bakery) and Hampton Chutney.

Marys marvellous is great for baked goods and coffee but they only have two stools so no room to sit and eat unless the weather is warm and you can sit outside on the bench or go to the beach. There are two other breakfast places - one is indian wells and the other one changed names last summer so I dont know it but its on the main street just next to marys marvellous.
There is not a whole lot to do in amagansett in april so you might want to explore some of the other villages closeby such as montauk or east hampton.
PS the farmers market is not open in the winter but may be back open in april.

My favorite place to eat is past Amagansett on the way to Montauk. The Clam Bar, it's on the left as you head to Montauk. It's open in April and is cash only. Also, the East Hampton Town Marine Museum is in Amagansett, not sure if they are open in April, but it's a pretty cool museum about the local fishing industry. Indian Wells Tavern is good and Stephen Talkhouse is a great bar for local music, sometimes they get some semi famous acts.

There aren't many places to eat in amagansett. There's Tavern and Mary's Marvelous. I think that's it. Oh and Hampton Chutney in the square.
Amagansett is literally like 3-4 blocks. That's it. But East hampton is only 10 minutes away from it and montauk is about 15-20 minutes from it.

Drive a few minutes to East Hampton and try Fresno. It is one of my favorite restaurants of all time !
