WE FOUND OUT THE GENDER!!!

It's a........

BOY!!!!

We went for my 15 week sequential screening blookwork last night. The sono tech had said she would do a gender check at this appointment.

At first the baby was face down and the tech was like this is not a good position for determining the sex! LOL He also had his knees up against his chest. But she said not to worry she had ways to make the baby cooperate. She kept pushing and shaking my belly and then had me lay on my side and then back on my back. The baby started moving all around. She checked a bunch of times… I saw the pee pee before she said it. So did DH. The doctor was also in the room. When she finally said it, the doctor says, I know… I saw it like three times already! LOL She was making sure before she said anything. She knew that we had three boys altogether and that DH wanted a girl. She kind of jokingly said to DH as she handed him the sono pic, there’s a pee pee in the picture. I have three girls… All the same is nice too. You can have one of my girls. LOL

It was so, so touching how happy Thomas and my step-sons were. Thomas kept saying, I knew it! I knew it was a boy because it had no hair! He kept saying he’s so happy it’s a boy. He had a smile on his face all night. Genuine happiness and joy... heart melting... He kept saying, I wanted a brother! The older boys were high fiving each other and their father. Older step-spm said now he will have to have THREE best men at his wedding! It melted my heart. I was so touched and happy that his automatic reaction was to have all of his brothers as his best men. He's only 14, and who knows what will happen when the time comes... but still... I couldn’t believe it… When we were walking to the car, Thomas was saying how happy he was it was a boy and then he said, but Daddy wanted a girl. Broke my heart. Then DH said, no but I wanted a boy too. Boys are great… I love boys! He’s not acting disappointed, but I know he is… a little… Oh well, God gave us another boy and that’s what was meant to be! I am personally thrilled. I looked at myself in the mirror before we left and I said are you a Mommy of a boy and girl or two boys? I just felt that I was going to have another boy. I feel like I had already started bonding with him as a boy. As great as it would have been to have a daughter and the boys would have loved her and treated her like a princess, I do feel that she would have inevitably been left out a little being the only girl with 3 boys. My grandmother was the only girl of 5 or 6 boys and she always wished she had a sister and said she was miserable! LOL

Anyway, I'm sad for my DH, but thrilled for our family as a whole!! Thomas will have a best friend and little side kick as the older boys have in Thomas. And DH will get over the fact that a girl was not in the cards for us... He is an AWESOME boy Dad and I'm sure he would have been an awesome girl Dad too, but now he'll be the most experienced boy Dad on the block!
