how do you decide what to register for??

i have baby bargains.
i have friends with kids.
but i went today to register and i just dont know how to decide on things like convertable carseats, bottles.. all of the random stuff.

how did everyone decide??

i took a lot of recomendations from people and had my sil come with me to help (shes got 2 kids under 2)

we just went section by section through buy buy baby....i found the workers there to be extremely helpful and they helped us make a lot of decisions

I went slowly, I researched and asked around. I did one big thing at a time, i.e. car seat stroller etc. Honestly, I felt like after I did the big things the rest was all sort of personal preference.

we read baby bargains and got recos from friends w/ babies

I searched for things on Amazon (even the things I registered for on BRU), and read the tons of reviews posted by real parents who have used the products. I found this very helpful!

We went by recommendations from other btdt parents and read lots and lots of reviews.

Baby Bargains-I narrowed down by A/B grades, BTDT parents, somewhat by the list the store gives you, employees at BBB were consistent with reviews I'd read, other people's registries, trying to think logically LOL....just take it step by step..and think of it this way..you won't need the convertible carseat until after the infant seat...
