girl that are on metformin..

so i am not the biggest fan of this drug since it messes with my stomach but today i had a diff kind of reaction to it..

i know it helps control the sugar in your blood but can it make it go low that u r almost feeling hypo glycemic?

i dont know if its cause i have had a lot lot of blood taken from em the past few days but today i got really dizzy and kinda shaky and my sis gave me juice and i felt a bit better..

she called me shelby from steel magnoliasChat Icon but then it made me think could it be from the metformin?

yes i have had moments of feeling really dizzy since being on metformin. I am on a bunch of different meds though so I wasn't sure if it was definitely just from that or a combo of everything I am on.

hope you are feeling better!Chat Icon

Yes, I also have times, sometimes days where I feel dizzy or lethargic. It usually happens when I go a couple of days forgetting to take it and then start taking it again.

I can't remember where, but I read somewhere that "malaise" (hehehe what a funny word) can be a side effect of the metformin.

Re: girl that are on metformin..

When I started metformin, Sandra at Dr. B's told me right off the bat that it would not make my blood sugar go low or make me feel dizzy or faint. I haven't had any problems.
