failed the one hour
so after just barely passing the 1 hour with a 135, my dr. wanted me to retake it at 32 weeks and this time around it was even worse...I got a 145.
Now I have to schedule the 3 hour, so at 33 weeks pregnant I have to drink that nasty $hit and pray I don't have GD.
I'm so worried about what GD does to the baby, is he in any type of danger? I feel like a failure.

Re: failed the one hour
Ur not a failure. Two of my good friends had GD. Both were thin, and did not gain a lot of weight, the docs said it was hormonal and they didn't cause it to happen. One managed it with diet, the other needed to take insulin. The second is still pregnant, due in 5 weeks, the other has a healthy happy 2 year old. Don't stress.

Re: failed the one hour
Don't stress too bad over taking the 3 hour.
I failed the 1 hour by just a few points at 26 weeks. At 27 weeks I took the 3 hour and passed with flying colors. While I was there taking the 3 hour another preggo was there. She said her doc said only about 10% who take the 3 hour actually fail it and have GD.
I do know someone who had GD and was able to control it through it diet alone. Baby was born healthy and with no complications.

Re: failed the one hour
I've had GD with my last 2 pregnancies, that we aren't testing for this one, I just started the diet. I gained 18 with my first, 25 with my last. Both babies are super healthy :). My first we didn't find out till 36 weeks, she was born at 8lbs 3ozs. My 2nd we found out earlier and I started the diet, he came out 6lbs 4ozs. I think it can make ppl have larger babies.

Re: failed the one hour
I don't know much about GD, but a lot of people fail the 1 hour and pass the 3 hour with flying colors. You are NOT a failure!!

Re: failed the one hour
Frist~ you are not a failure
Secondly~ there are many ways to treat you if you have GD.
Third~ I know plenty of women who had GD and there were no ill effects to LO.
Fourth~ just for you because I know how you are feeling and I am sure you will pass the 3 hour.

Re: failed the one hour
I failed the 1 hour at 12 weeks and passed the 3 hour both at 12 and 28 weeks- you are not a failure- sometime our bodies go out of whack- with all the hormonal changes we are going through! Good luck!!!

Thanks so much for your kind words and the hugs!!!!
And thank you everyone else, I read up on everything a little more and at 33 weeks I'm not going to drive myself crazy. I've had a great pregnancy so far and I'm just going to call tomorrow to schedule the stupid 3-hour and get it over with. I have too many happy things to look forward to to let this get me down.
