I just got through reading this post Rachel, and all I can say is that I'm so sorry you have to deal with a MIL like yours (and how much her sickness affects your husband is just the worst part of it all  )
I see that you posted an update about your shower so I wont say much more here, just so glad you were able to enjoy your special day with the people that really matter most in yours, your DH's and your little  lives

I am SO sorry JT has to go through this. She sounds very manipulative and maybe the best thing for JT and you (and the baby) is to get some distance from her....
DH mother is very manipulative and DH found his own way to deal with it....I can tell you via FM (I don't want to post personal info any more).
She's going to push and push until everyone is fed up enough and leaves her life.

This is just awful and unfair on sooo many levels. I would just speak to her as little as possible. Try not to involve her in your or the baby's life.
I am so sorry this has hurt your husband so badly.

so I kinda relied to the shower posts first, and am glad to see you still had such a wonderful day! It stinks you guys have to go through this - too bad you can't choose families, right? Lots of s to you!

rachel im so sorry just saw your email. told you she is wacky she would have sat there with a pus on her face anyway. its better off she stayed away. are you guys rethinking about her watching Ava once she is born since she is so unstable?

We already decided she will NOT be watching her. We will either hire someone or JT's sister offered for the two days a week we need someone. She will NEVER be alone with my child.

Rach-  and  I can't believe that you guys have to deal with that.
I had no words but then I realized that i have the overwhelming urge to apologize for her...Does she even understand what a  she is?Ugh

Oh gosh, how sad that your MIL, your hubby's mom, your baby's grandma is this way.  Someone who should be such an important part of your lives seems to be taking it all for granted. 
and its sad that you had to decide that she'll never be alone with your child (but i totally agree with you).
and her missing your bABY SHOWER due to her issues is just unacceptable.
Im so sorry youre going through all this
