Anyone deal with this? Re NAILS

where they break on the side, like a crack and it snags on everything that you have no choice to either cut it off SHORT or get it wrapped??

I DO! Chat Icon

This is the 3rd nail its happened to this wk and I go weekly for mani's.

Im starting to think its the way she files my nails, she always files the sides, which then files the support of my nail.

Am I right?

are they square?

I noticed that since I started doing a rounded square, I get less chips on the sides than when she does straight scross

When I do not have them wrapped this happens often.

Happens to me all the time. Because of this, I have to make sure they are always polished!

Yes. But I know it happens when I am dehydrated and from washing my hands all the time.

My nails are so dry right now that they keep breaking. Weekly manicures help and so does drinking tons of water.

Yes, its most likely bc of the way she files the sides. They're supposed to file the sides but with single strokes in one direction KWIM? Not back and forth. This happens to me too.
