Do I have the only DH
that doesn't know how to tie a tie?
I just spent 20 mins watching a video on line to do it for him. Otherwise he was going 3 towns over to ask a friend to do it
I was practically strangling myself.
BUT I finally did it

OMG!! Go you!! DH knows how to tie a tie. And it's always neat and nice (not a fat knot, which I don't like). Now, DS wears a uniform to school and I have to say Thank God its clip on!!! I could never do it for him!!
Do they make clip on ties for guys

Mine doesn't... he printed out instructions online and brought them with us to a wedding last year. He was able to follow the instructions, but he can't do it without them. Usually he just takes off the tie and leaves it on the hanger still tied, so all he has to do is tighten it when he wears it, but we had dry cleaned the tie before that so he had to do it from scratch.
Last year, we went to a family event and my brother tied it for DH.  I kinda think it's cute he doesn't know how to do it... not sure why.

Last year, we went to a family event and my brother tied it for DH. I kinda think it's cute he doesn't know how to do it... not sure why.
Once my brother met as in the parking lot of Villa Lombardi's to tie DH's tie.
My brother wasn't going to the wedding.

My DH knows how to do it.
Of all of the guys I've known it was the ones who went to Catholic elementary and high school who've always known, from an early age, how to tie a tie.
I've also remember the days before the casual office (pre-early 90's) when more men were required to wear ties in the workplace. So it seems that those under 40 who weren't in the workforce before business casual find it more of a challenge.

DH is good at it. I learned a few years ago.
He's the wizard of ties..he wears one a few times a week. His dad taught him years ago at his Bar Mitzvah.
Hey Sissy, maybe that's Gary's issue..he never had a Bar Mitzvah????

My Dh has no idea as well. He watched a video on youtube like 4 times and still couldnt get it. I had to watch the video and finally do it for him lol

nope....DH has no clue. If he buys a tie, which is very rare, he will ask the lady to tie it for him.

DH has no clue. the shorter end in the back always ends up super short. My dad has had to do it for him a few times. DH just slips it off and hangs it on the hanger his suit is on to "save" it for next time

my DH wears a tie everyday
HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO TIE ONE.
I learned from YouTube, and now I make each tie when he gets it/when it comes back from the cleaners and it stays tied on a hook in his closet. He just loosens them and slips them over his head everyday.

when he gets older my dad would tie a weeks worth for my bother's and they would just tighten them up each day - after a while they finally learned

My husband was the one that made them for all of his friends in HS! He can still do it, but gets out practice between weddings since he doesn't wear one to work.
One of his friends STILL can't do it!

Up until about two weeks ago he didn't and would have my dad do it for him.
Now that he has to wear ties to work he searched on You Tube and is able to tie a necktie!

up until like 2 years ago dh didnt know how to..had to print out step by step instructions for him to learn..used to give the tie to my dad for him to tie for him lol
