i am not TTC yet, but iam planning to start soon. i stopped BCP and now we are using condoms. here is my TMI question:

i have had 2 utis since starting using them. i just want to rip out my innards. did anyone else get utis or was allergic to condoms?

i tried researching it- the nonoxydol 09 (sp) definitely caused the first uti, so we switched to non spermicidal lubricated ones. now im trying to see whats in the lubrication but its not listed on the box or the website. could it be that im allergic to the lube? i dont think its the latex cuz i think i woud've had a worse reaction.

maybe its a sign that we need to start TTC!

ugh I HATE condoms. havent' used them in years. even when not ttc we just did PNP.... you might just be prone to them now so I would skip the condoms entirely.

I'd rather not have sex then use a condom at this point in my life. If you don't want to get prego's now, you can always Pull and Pray and not have sex during your fertile time!

Re: since you may have had experience with this

I'm allergic to aloe and have had problems with some condoms in the past. There are some sensitive ones that I found to be less irritating. My favorite lube that worked with condoms was the babelube from Toys in Babeland.

Are you drinking enough fluids? Have you tried adding cranberry juice to your diet? I always found UTIs became less frequent when I drank more fluids. Also, wearing a panty liner (especially on sweaty days) seemed to help too (and changing it before bed and stuff).

UTIs are the worst. Chat Icon Sorry you're going through that! Those iodine pills used to be a lifesaver for me! Feel better!
