Don't count appliances...but cabinets, granite counter top and tiled floors....

Kitchen is about 10x10

We want non HD/Lowes cabinets. We like the cream/off white antiquey looking cabinets...

What are we really looking at?

ETA: We'd probably do a granite backsplash as well

It's the labor that's going to cost you. It can be anywhere from $25k-$60k.

depends on how many cabinets you need, how much granite etc.


i'd say anywhere between 20-40

Hi,
I just finished my kitchen in my own home and I am completely thrilled with the cabinet company I used. They are made here on Long Island...(very green) and I felt that I also saved alot of green with them. The price was not what I expected from a local cabinet maker and the product was outstanding.

Being an interior designer I see alot of poor quality products out there. FM me if you need a referral.

Good luck with your kitchen...mine is finally 95% complete after many long months of renovations. It was hard to go through...but totally worth it. :)

it depends. will plumbing need to be moved? Type of cabinets? Moving walls? Upgrading electrical service? Cost of tile? There are so many factors...

We purchased Thomasville cabinets and that cost was just under $10,000 for cabinets alone, without install...for similar size kitchen....

we had a few blunders along the way that cost us a few extra dollars. But overall we spent around $33,000 including appliances...

I know you said not HD/Lowes but to give some idea we looked into kraftmaid antique white with some detail and a glaze and it was either $216 or $206 a linear foot.

It really will depends on your cabinets.

You could go as low as $12K or as high as $50K.

It' actually rather easy to figure it out. You have a standard 10x10. So most prices are for 10x10.

kraftmaid, "middle of the road" is about $5-7K for cabinets for that size kitchen. Count $1.5-3K for granite.

PLUS the appliances.

Then labor.

With a reasonable contractor you could have a $15K kitchen and nice cabinets.

That does not include the "extras" like "fancy" custom details like crown molding on top of cabinets, etc.. those details are what really cost the most in the end.

We plan on doing demo of old cabinets ourselves
having tile floor put down for about $2,000
Got a quote for custom cabinets for $10K installed
and are planning on about $3000 for granite counters
All togeteher about $15K

Thanks everyone! I gave a 10x10 as an estimate, but my Dad and DH just told me it's a lot bigger...oh well...we def have to redo it so most of our money is def going to go into that!

If your doing a full gut of the kitchen I would say $25k plus.

If you can do some of the work yourself like gutting the kitchen you will save a lot.

We did the gut job. We hired sheet rockers, an electrician, plumber and a contractor. The cabinets and Granite will cost us about $12k maybe a little less.

Labor to install cabinets will be around $3000 plus.

I did a full gut of the kitchen and moved plumbing and ran all new electrical. With all that and cabinets and appliances we sent 10-12K. Our kitchen is 9X15. We did all the labor ourselves.

We got a full ikea kitchen (double oven, french door fridge, range hood, cook top included) for under 10K, DH assembled and installed the cabinets himself- first time he ever did that and it came out great. We also got granite countertops (including a 5x6 island) for $2600 from All Granite and Marble corporation in NJ. DH also did a full backsplash with glass tile from HD, again DIY and first time and it came out great.

We got our tile floor from Procida Tile for just under $800, again DH put in.

So...

Cabinets/Appliances- $9,000
Granite- $2,600
Backsplash-$500
Floor- $800
Materials- $500 ish

New kitchen for around 14K

I'll post pics (IKEA has GORGEOUS white cabinets- also their cabinets were rated #3 in Consumers)

We just got a price....our kitchen is about 10x10....the contractor quoted us about $30,000. That price included knocking down a wall, Kraftsmaid cabinets, granite countertop, installing appliances, moving a window, hanging a door, and creating a peninsula countertop with cabinets.

This is about what we just paid for our new kitchen--not including appliances. my DH did his own demo, sheetrocking electrical and plumbing work. Our kitchen is about 14X19 and we went with custom cabinets. Cabinets were a little over 16k, granite was 4500. Pardon the cell phone quality pics but you can get an idea of what we did with our $$ here. If you have any questions feel free to FM me
