Ditto. I don't think it's "haunted" or evil or anything, but I wouldn't want to deal with the passerbys and the "fame" associated with it.

and as rational as i usually am, i think i would have a few nights where if i was home by myself, my thoughts would start to wonder... and i don't need that!

I love the house but wouldn't buy it because of people wanting to look at it always. That area is really nice of Amityville but the village has taken a hit in this economy and is starting to look less appealing. The real nice thing is even though its a "rich" area its mixed ethnicity which you don't really see in many other "rich" areas.
We wanted to do the sale but the line was ridiculous and mostly filled with people wanted to see the house not the estate sale.
It's not really mixed ethnicity at all. I think you are thinking of North Amityville.

possibly, i mean i can only base it on my friend renting a house one block south of montauk and she lived on a block that was mixed and yet exclusive.

No... bc I am a baby.. and would freak myself out. DH works alot of nights and I still sleep with the light on when he is not home and randomly check closets and under the bed as if someone is there.. lol
and I dont really like it anyhow
