Missing Fortunoff...need bedding
DH and I need to get bedding for our room. In years past, I would have headed right over to Fortunoff based on the amount of choices they had.
Where would you go for nice quality bedding (not a bed in the bag) aside from a department store or Bed Bath and Beyond? Im not a fan of catalog shopping for that kind of thing - I like to see fabrics in person. Mailing stuff back and forth is just a pain in the arse.

I've gotten some GreAT stuff at Century 21.
And don't overlook Macy's, with sales and coupons you can do really well on great brands; Most of my DKNY sets (my favorites) are from Macy's.

I actually heard on the news the other day that Fortunoffs is reopening. Apparently they have a new partner and that's how they plan to re-open. I heard it quickly before I was leaving for work so I don't know the exact details or when it will be happening.
I usually do well at Macys. Like you, I need to see and touch. I can't buy off the internet either.

Really??? Fortunoff is going reopen?  I loved Fortunoff, it was the most amazing home store - no other store can ever compare to it.

We just went through the same thing. We wanted new bedding so we can then paint our new master bedroom...
It was so fustrating since I too wanted to see the fabric also... We tried everywhere--- BBB, JcPenny, bloomies, Tj, Marshall's century nothing!!!
So we went online-- what we did is that we ordered one thing from the collection to see if we liked it and we chanced it... We ended up with :
Waterford Mullinger bedding.. Yes Waterford does make bedding and it is absolutely gorgeous and high quality.. We ended up finding all the pieces on diifferent sites and got discounts with coupons.. We got it at Macy's ( only online), Dillard's and the home decorating co.. YOu can also get it straight from Waterford( which was the most expensive).
It is still a fortune but we love it..
It is a mxiture of blues, browns and beiges. WE painted our bedroom BM Cape blue. We will be getting dark wood furniture... Can't wait to actually move in...
