Re: what can you tell me about 5 towns area and schools ?
I'll try to help. I lived in Hewlett (SD 14). My son went pre-k to 5th grade there. Where in the Five Towns are you looking? I have to run out for a bit but will check back in later.

hewlett-woodmere district is excellent. Hewlett, Woodmere, N Woodmere, parts of Gibson (Valley Stream) and a small portion of Lynbrook go here.
Lawrence is terrible (Cedarhurst, Lawrence and Inwood). they are often on austerity budgets because much of the town sends their children to private schools (yeshivas) and vote down the school budget. It was never wonderful but it used to be better, though that was 10-15 years ago at this point.

I live in Gibson with Hewlett-Woodmere schools. Excellent area, cute, affordable homes, great schools, lots of shopping
What else did you want to know?

What everyone else said, lol. However, I wasn't aware that parts of Hewlett went to Lynbrook schools? Hewlett/Gibson kids go to Franklin Early Childhood Center (pre-k through 1st grade), then they move on to Hewlett Elementary (2 through 5th). From 6 thru 8 Woodmere Middle School and then onto Hewlett HS. From what I can remember the Woodmere kids are pooled with the Hewlett/Gibson kids in the middle school. Nevertheless, SD 14 is an excellent school district.

Yup - the very edge of Hewlett Harbor (the part that borders E Rockaway) goes to Lynbrook (Lynbrook SD is most of Lynbrook, small part of E Rockaway, small part of Hewlett Harbor). It's another excellent district - blue ribbon, great athletics.
Just honestly stay away from Lawrence SD if you're at all concerned with schools. It will be tempting - their taxes are much lower.
