This is why i don't POAS!! (update)
I don't POAS.. for my own reasons, i'd rather not drive myself crazy each month so i just wait and see what will happen (AF usually shows up right on time before i have my 2 week appt with RE after IUI)
Anyway, this month for some reason, i've got my hopes up. I have an appt. this morning for a pregnancy blood test with my RE, and no AF yet
Yesterday, i was consumed with thoughts about testing.. i couldn't wait until today to find out. So, i went home and used the one CBE digital hpt i had. It started flashing to indicate it was working and i put it on the counter and walked away. When i came back to check, it had the little bookmark symbol 'error' symbol on it! 
So i sit there and debate with myself about going out and getting another box - i figured i'd already made the decision to poas, so i might as well follow through. I ran out to Walgreens and got another box and waited until about 4 hours later. Did it again and i got the same friggin message!!!
So i spend a sleepless night last night, tossing and turning in anticipation of the dr's visit this morning, and dreaming of peeing and weird flashing testing results. 
I got up at 5:00 to be there for my 7:00 appt. (yuck)
When i go into the bathroom this morning i figure it can't hurt to at least try the last test.. i mean its just sitting there taunting me 
So i figured i've got a nice amount of FMU, i make sure the test is positioned correctly (because apparently i can't pee on these things right!) and lo and behold..
NOTHING.. i didn't even get one drop of pee on it!!!
So.. i'm sitting here writing this, half laughing, half shaking my head and saying to myself that someone up there doesn't want me to know anything until the dr tests me.
This is why i don't POAS!
(and ftr, i have no problems with opk's, i manage to pee just fine on those!)
Anyway.. wish me luck this morning!
eta: well ladies, thank you so much all for the well wishes, but i just got the call and its negative. i wish those damn tests had worked because then at least i'd be prepared a little 
oh well.
at least i can have a drink for st. patty's day right?

Are you going to try one more time to poas before your appt.

OMG, how frustrating!!!
I am too anxious about POAS accurately, so I always collect my urine in a cup, and then dip the stick.
I have been thinking of you all morning, and really, really hope you get some wonderful news today!!!

I am horrible at peeing on a stick. I ruined one cause I got pee all over! lol So I have been doing the cup too.
But I don't POAS much either b/c like you it drives me crazy. I wait, and wonder and if I get a negative then I still tell myself...well it might be too early! lol

Try to enjoy partying this weekend. Wish I could be there to join you instead of cooped up inside at a bridal shower.

I don't think i've ever been so disappointed at being able to drink!
J isn't taking it well.. i know he's been handling it ok up until the last few months of disappointment. i'm afraid he's starting to get really discouraged now.
I'm trying to just hang in there and not wallow in it. Got to be positive for us both right now.
The worst thing is being stuck here at work and i can't share my pain with anyone. So being able to come on here helps immensely!

You know that both Brad and I are always here if you guys feel like talking. Brad definitely shares the frustration and disappointment, although he's better at being positive than I am, most of the time.
BTW, we want to use those La Piazza gift certificates to go out to dinner with you guys, so we have to pick a date, after Passover (time to move this conversation to FM or email..lol!)
