Doctor vist
I just first want to apologize in advance for seeming ignorant.
I had 'the talk' with my gyno about TTC and he gave me a do not list.
One of the things on the list was NO SAUNAS.
Not that I go in a sauna or anything but why would he say that? Does the temp of your body create problems with conception?
Does this mean hot tubs too?
TIA

Re: Doctor vist
Hmm ... I think this means for men. It lowers sperm count.
As for women, I think it's recommended to avoid them when pregnant- but when TTC I haven't heard of it being a problem!
Maybe someone else has heard differently! Congrats on having 'the talk' with your gyno! I did that for the first time over a year ago and it was almost as exciting as officially trying!

I knew about the men and the sperm count but he said me? He also said don't try to conceive in the hot tub, lol. That I knew I don't know why I didn't ask him what he meant exactly in re to me.
Should I call him , I feel stupid? Is it bc I have high blood pressure? Although I got my pressure down in the last months. I just thought I was missing something.
He also told me to not clean the kitty litter during TTC and that it is dh's job.
Dh didn't believe me , thank GOD my dr. wrote that down.
Thanks the the reply

Re: Doctor vist
Increasing your body temperature (like a sauna, hot bath, hot tub, etc) can be bad for a developing fetus.

Are heated seats ok?

Yeah, you just don't want to immerse yourself in something hot - a heated seat won't raise your body temp.

Re: Doctor vist
oh Wow so there was something in relationship to body temperature during TTC!
So , sorry again if this seems like a dumb question but does that mean after conception you should remain out of any hot tub? Like your home jacuzzi? I guess so huh?
That kinda stinks ,guess I won't be using my brand new tub for awhile

Re: Doctor vist
I take it to mean once you are pregnant and there is a baby, then it is unsafe for the baby. Not unsafe during TTC.
eta I would call to clarify.

NO! I am sorry if I am being confusing. I am actually talking about TTC not pregnancy that is why I am asking on this board. I was wondering if anyone herd of this during TTC?
I guess I am going to have to call my dr to find out.
