RE question?

When did you go see one and what exactly do they do differently than your OB/GYN?

I see that some girls on this board have seen one and I debating on whether or not to go and make an appointment for one.

Do i need to get a referral? Or can I just call one up?

Re: RE question?

I think it depends on how your insurance works...I do not have referrals for any doc. I just have to make sure there is coverage for the doc I go to.

Call the RE office and ask if they take your insurance or call you insurance company and ask if a certain doc is covered

I went to see a RE after wasting 3 months with my GYN. Turns out I had PCOS and she NEVER mentioned it! Ugh

But I am seeing a RE now and it makes a WORLD of difference that he knows what is wrong with me and will find a solution

Re: RE question?

I went off the pill in November expecting to have problems so after 2 months of no period or ovulation .. and a doctor who refused to look at my past health records and told me to "relax and give it time" ....... I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I saw an RE after 2 months off the pill who confirmed I definitely have a very classic case of PCOS! ..... Now I'm in the process of meds to get my to ovulate and hopefully get a BFP!

I didn't need a referral, I just called and made an appointment. One of the best decisions I ever made! Chat Icon

ETA: I expected to have problems because of terrible issues before starting the pill 10 years ago. I was also told at that point that I had possible PCOS - which now is confirmed.

Re: RE question?

the usual rule is to see an RE after 1 yr of trying if you are under 35 or after 6 months of trying if you are over 35, unless you have an issue you already know about.
