Got my blood results
and apparently my hormones are "whacky" I am so upset about this. My progesterone levels are low but here is my ques....I got blood work done on the day I got my smiley...arent your progesterone levels lower right before you ovulate?? or am I making that up in my head?
Am I grasping for straws here thinking its low bc it was CD 17 when I got my blood work?
Meanwhile my temps are still up and detected my O date the same day I got the blood taken on CD17
thoughts?

Why were you tested for progesterone at cd17? Isn't it usually CD21/7dpo? It would make sense that your progesterone tested low if you had bloodwork that early; progesterone usually peaks midway through your LP.

Re: Got my blood results
You are right. Progesterone doesn't really come into play until after ovulation. Most dr's do CD21 testing, which on a 14 day ovulation is 7 days later. They usually adjust it if you know your O date. I had my levels tested every other day after O so doc could see rise and fall.
I don't know why your doc ordered it so early. Maybe he/she assumed you O on CD14?

Re: Got my blood results
It was my first appt with this new DR...What she told me was that if my levels were this low at CD 2 or 3 than she would be even more worried...I reminded her on the phone that she took all these bloods mid cycle...I feel like the wind has totally been knocked out of me, I was totally expecting her to tell me everything was fine
so you agree that my Progesterone wolud be low since it was taken mid cycle?

Yes. I think your doc checked your progesterone too early. (I'm not a doctor; this is solely based on what MY doc told me when I had my progesterone levels checked). I'd call them back and say that you didn't O until CD17, and ask if they'd check it 7 days post O.

Re: Got my blood results
And you're positive it was progesterone and not FSH? I'm confused by her comment because progesterone would also be low on cd2 or 3. Most dr's test FSH at CD3, not progesterone.

ob/gyn...Both my sister and sister in law go to her and they love her....She did an entire prenatal profile and out of all the tests she did the one negative was my hormones were "wacky:...before I explained to her that it was CD17 when she tested me she was saying something about calling in a RX for 5mg to take 2x a day for 12 days???
