None to freeze
Just spoke with the embryologist and she said only the two that were transferred became blastocysts - none of the others. I am so upset not just because I will have to do another fresh cycle if this doesn't work but because I feel like this means I have another problem. My original problem was that I didn't ovulate and the RE thought egg quality wasn't an issue - does this mean it is? I just don't know what to think anymore.

I'm so sorry I really hate that this has to be so hard for all of us
I don't have an answer to your question as I'm struggling to understand that same thing for myself. Just wanted to give you hugs and tell you that you are in my prayers
But don't worry about it now, consentrate on the two embies you have with you- think positive, I am praying this is it for you and you won't need to worry about it anymore.

Re: None to freeze
I know it is hard, but try to stay positive and focus on the two that were transferred
Unfortunately, a lot of women (including myself) have not wound up with any to freeze.

Re: None to freeze
My first cycle I hade non to freeze and the ones they put back were the absolute crummiest 3 & 4 cell embies ( and believe it or not even with those crummy ones I got pg, but it ended up being a chemical)...
If they put back 2 blasts I think thats excellent ! I know its hard not to have that safety net but try to be positive with the 2 that are hopefully burrowing themslves right now !!!

Re: None to freeze
I've done a total of 4 retrievals and have never had any to freeze. And I am now pg with #2.
Couple of positive ways to look at this: one, you won't have the dilemma of having frozen embies after you've had children. My friend has 15 frozen embies she has been paying storage fees for close to 10 years now because she doesn't know what to do with them. Second, the ones that are frozen were not the better ones when they were retrieved.
Focus on the positive!

Re: None to freeze
Thanks ladies. I am feeling better already. The initial shock really got me although I suspected this would be the case based on what the doctor said on transfer day. I am gonna stay focused on today! Thanks for all your kind words - it helps more than you could ever know!!!!

Re: None to freeze
My first IVF I had none to freeze at all and my second one I had 2 to freeze. Same meds and med amounts both times. I think it is all sort of just a matter of luck. Many women get PG with none to freeze!! Try not to let it bother you if you can!!

Re: None to freeze
I totally understand how you feel. I had some to freeze from the first one, but none from the second. It is disappointing, but all of you energy is needed for the next 2 weeks. Hope you are feeling well!
