Are you basing that decision on anything other than your mother's experience? Do you not give flea and tick preventative either? Does your vet support this decision?

Sorry for the questions, but I want to learn more if you have information to share.

If I may......
I know quite a few people who NEVER take their dog to a vet unless they are visibly ill.
They do not give any preventative meds.
I've known some of these people for over 20 years and dog after dog, they have no issues.
It's not a choice I'd be comfortable with for my guys but these people's dogs seem fine.

We know many people here that have very sick dogs, or sadly, dogs that did not make it either. There are too many variables to consider in why one person has gotten so lucky for 20 years and other people's dogs perish.

I agree with you; it's not something I'm willing to chance. I've recently learned about the dangers of overvaccinations too, which is why I asked that poster the questions - if she knows something I don't. Reading it back now, it sounds like an interrogation. That's not my intent, I really am interested if it's based on facts, vet advice, or something else.
