Need fireplace remodel HELP!!!!

I went to HD to find out that the "glass doors" (to prevent cold air to sip through the fireplace) are only seasonal items. Which BTW, apparently in January fireplace stuff is out of season already.

Where can I find those glass doors to remodel my fireplace. I have an old 70's special in "gold".

I also need to find a mantel also.

Is there a good store on LI that does not cost a fortune and does provide materials to remodel a fireplace all year long?

Did you try calling some of the fireplace stores then price shop what you want around. Can't HD or Lowes order the doors even if they don't normally stock them now?

What about asking your contractor if you find the item if he can get it w/ his contractor discount?

I just googled and got a few - did you look in the phone book - I would call around and do some research - can your contractor recommend some places to check out.

We used Basic Energy East in Huntington. We have a gas FP but I know they carry wood-burning accessories.

Other FP stores that we checked out:

Jet More on Sunrise Hwy (Wantagh or Seaford)

The Fireplace Store in South Nassau too (forget which town)

Sleepy Hollow in Deer Park
