I also have the shark - we used it to clean floors as soon as we moved in and the difference between the before and after was amazing. I cleaned them all and then put a restorer product on them and they looked AMAZINGLY better!

I know a few people who have the shark and say it's ok. The people I know who have the Bissell love it.

I used it on wood floors, followed by this product:
http://www.minwax.com/products/hardwood_floor_finishing/hardwood_floor_reviver.html
The mop was a little hard to push at times but I found that was when it was getting rid of the most dirt! I was very happy with the results. I have never tried the Bissel. My mom and aunt also have the Shark and love it.

The Bissell one is supposed to be awesome - on my list of things to buy. Do a search on here and you will find a lot of info about it! I think Acerone did a review as well.

I have the Haan steam mop sanitizer. It is the best! I saw it on a TV and ordered it online. I clean my hardwood and tile with it. It is so easy to use and works really well.

I have the bissell and it does work great. BUT I feel like to make teh floors shiny(wood) I have to go back over them with a regular product and microfiber mop. I also don't like the way the steam mop smells-its not a fresh clean smell

This is because it dries soooo fast, it's not like you have water sitting on them...

Re: anyone have a steam mop?
We use it specifically for our wood floors - same with everyone else I know. It's really not a lot of water so it's safe.

If you don't care for the steam smell Bissell now comes with the optional scent drops.

good question, not so sure about that- it sounds like it might be ok, but only thing that worries me is that it gets really hot- so it might melt it- i dont know for sure though- maybe check the package and see what it says
