Can I also share the work I did on my stairs???
So, we have no carpet left in our house, but the stairs were still carpeted, so here's the transformation. I just took off the carpet, pulled out alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the staples, removed the old paint, sanded and repainted. Then I found treads I liked, but they were too small, so I cut them and fitted two ends together to the length I wanted, then I stapled them down to the stairs. I like how it looks and it's so much nicer than walking on the bare wood stairs

Believe it or not, I do all of my work on the house at night. My husband works overnights and I'll start all the work once I put my daughter to sleep. I have issues

OMG-I feel so lazy. I never get any big work done because I say I don't have time. I could easily do it when DD goes to bed, but alas I do not.

wow!! you really are doing an amazing job on the house!! I work best at night too! I don't know why! I always start projects so late, and get so much done! It looks like you even took down either wallpaper or paneling in the walls and painted!!!

I'm hoping to do the same thing on our stairs one of these days.... I took the carpet out a while ago, but that's as far as I got....  I have so many projects to do, plus I want to spend time with DC that I just can't finish everything.

Well, I took my sweet time getting around to painting the stairs , but once I did, it took me five days. I primed every other stair one night, then the other stairs the next night, then painted every other stair the next night, then the others the fourth night and on the fifth night, I cut and stapled the carpets. I probably could have done it in less days, but I wanted to do it at night when there was really no need to go up and down the stairs.
It's really become a hobby of mine to do stuff around the house, and I enjoy it, but for every week of work I put into the house, there's seriously four other weeks that I sat on my azz and played on the computer at night
And yes, we took down all of the wallpaper and paneling last summer

It looks great......what did you use to sand the steps? I need to sand the thingy that goes down the side of the steps and also the front part of the steps?

We have a hand sander that I used. Quite honestly, I just grabbed whatever we had that looked like it could sand something My theory is it will all work itself out
