Grooming Injury situation ???
WE have a groomer come to the house to groom our chihuahua...this is the third time they have come and they have done an okay job so far.
Today when grooming our dog Milo, the groomer knicked his ear pretty badly. He was very apologetic to me and you could tell he felt very bad. He offered to pay all vet bills if I decided to take milo to the vet. I did take him to the vet and they said just to keep an eye on the ear for infection ect... but they did not charge me anything.
So, the groomer did not charge me as of yet but he wants to come back and bath Milo when he is allowed to (to get rid of the dried blood all over his ear and head) and then said we would settle up on the gooming bill depending what the vet bill (if any) was going to cost.
Would you pay him for his services?

Ok here it is for me.. If he expected to be paid I would pay him and never use him again.. If he refused to charge me I would be very very happy and give him another chance,, This can happen at anytime with any groomer.. I consider my grommer the very very best there is.. She has done some little things that were accidents.. Nothing that warrented a vet though.. Just a bleeding nail and a nick here and there.. Maybe her vajay jay to short where she got a little irritated,, Nothing neosporin couild not handle.. I paid her and was fine,, But if she did what your describing i really do not believe she would charge me..

Re: Grooming Injury situation ???
In that situation, if you paid for a vet visit, I would not pay the charge but def continue to use the person if they have a good history with you. Based on this situation, I would give them one more chance, they sounded really sincere and upset and concerned. I would explain that I wont pay for the service but I wont charge you for the vet visit.
Only you can judge if they are worth using again though. Glad your doggie is ok.

Re: Grooming Injury situation ???
Thank you for the opinions
He has called already to see how Milo is doing! He continued to apologize on the phone again when he called back to see how he was doing.
He wants to come back and give Milo another bath --to wash the blood from his ear and around his head off. I told him the vet said to not touch it for a few days since it was still bleeding a little when they saw the cut. He said he would call me in the middle of the week to set up a bath appointment. He did ask how much the vet cost and I told him they didn't charge me for the visit. He hasn't mentioned anything about the grooming bill yet so we will see.
ETA----I just wanted to add that I fully understand that this was an accident and it did make me feel better that he was so nice about the entire situation initially, insisted that we not only take Milo to the vet but offered to pay for anything and followed up later in the evening with a phone call to see how everything went.
