just curious if anyone takes their bags to a shoe repair person to get it professionally cleaned.

last time I picked up a pair of shoes from being fixed, the guy I go to was cleaning/polishing a gorgeous red Prada bag Chat Icon so I was thinking I should start doing that with my bags (the ones I know for a fact that I will use again)

Hmm I never thought about doing this.

How do you know if your bag 'needs' a cleaning? I have had a really good black leather bag for almost 3 years and never had it cleaned. What kind of difference would it make? Also, do you know how much a bag cleaning costs, on average? Chat Icon

I never thought of it either until I saw him cleaning the Prada. I don't think it would cost too much. he only charged me $15 to replace the soles on my flats, so I can't see it costing more than that.

I am not sure if it would make a huge difference on a dark bag, but my guess is that it would restore it to it's original beauty.

I think I'll bring one in just to see the results and if it's worth to do it with others.

I have a beige suede "Gallery Tote" from Coach - it is dirty and I took it to a reputable place in the city. They said it would be minimum $50, but more likely close to $80. I was like, hmmmmmm don't think so.

In the end, I probably should have had it cleaned because I just don't use it anymore because you can tell it needs cleaning, but I felt like that was too much.

I had my leather MK bag cleaned for $6!!!

Looked nice, but I was looking for more of a treatment rather than a cleaning.....but for $6 it was worth it!
