italian leather bags
has anyone ever bought a leather bag from italy while vacationing?
my mil is going and i want to give her $$ to get me one but i was wondering what the cost of them were over there. how much money should i give her?
ok - ill edit this to say - i currently own 2 italian leather handbags- they were approx $300 each. i have no idea what the exchange rate is from the us dollar to the euro but if i give my MIL $100 us is that enough to buy a bag there? or do i need to give her more?

Re: italian leather bags
I went a year ago when the dollar here sucked! Loved shopping there though and the Prada bags are sooo nice. They have better fashion there in Italy and ahead of us with style. I actually bought a fake Prada on the street , but figured... hey... It's still from Italy. Other than that I bought some clothes and shoes. Depends on what you're looking to get. She'll exchange a few hundred of yours or she can always put it on her CC and you can pay her when she gets back. We put everything on the CC

Re: italian leather bags
I've bought a few. It really depends on the size/quality/design of the bag. I bought a small sling-stlyle bag for around 50 euro. It was beautiful, soft leather. I spent more than that on some other bags though. It's really hard to say.
You'll definitely get a good quality leather bag though!
