We cancelled our contract
Not sure if anyone is left over here - I haven't been on in awhile!
We cancelled the contract today on the short sale we were waiting on - it was getting really ridiculous and it was becoming really stressful....we went down to Florida this past weekend for my sister's graduation and while we were there we saw another house we really liked that was even better than the short sale we were waiting on - I'm not sure if we are going to make an offer though - I'll have a better idea Monday. There is also another house my Mom is checking out for us Monday that we didn't get to see while we were visiting. Both of these houses have really great pools - which the short sale didn't have - so that is a plus - after seeing the other house this past weekend we are "over" the short sale one anyway 
So no more short sales for us - hopefully we can make an offer on something sometime soon and get an acceptance...
But as of today we threw in the towel so we are free to make an offer on something else if an opportunity presents itself....
Hopefully we can get down there soon!

I hope everything works out for you 
We finally heard back from one of the banks for the foreclosure we bid on and they rejected our offer. I dont think DH and I will be dealing with short sales or foreclosures again. Way too frustrating  Luckily we werent "in love" with the house or we would have been really disappointed!

We finally heard back from one of the banks for the foreclosure we bid on and they rejected our offer. I dont think DH and I will be dealing with short sales or foreclosures again. Way too frustrating Luckily we werent "in love" with the house or we would have been really disappointed!
yeah its hard.....in the beginning of the year it wasn't so bad b/c we had alot more time to wait.....but we want to be moved down by september and our goal has been to have a place ready so we can host xmas eve this year  and also we want to get to take advantage of the 8k tax credit - so we have to close on something by dec to get that now that it is practically june already we don't have much time to wait around again on another short sale...and besides that, it was stressful and crazy and i rather not do that again....
on the bright side we saved more money that whole time we were waiting and now we can spend a little more hahahaha....
i pray for house dust for us!!

Yea I think we decided we are going to hold out a while longer to try to save some more money. WHen we were looking I felt like every house would be settling because we can't afford what we want. I don't want to buy a house that I don't love. Ideally we would love to move out of state or upstate but we don't have job opportunities elsewhere.

Glad that you found something different. What a nightmare to keep waiting on people! It doesn't sound short at all!!
