Chemical PG Question

It is possible to have a chemical pg w/o really ever knowing for sure?

I normally have very regular/predictable cycles. This month I was over a week late with the worst period/PMS symptoms I have ever experienced. I took 3 PTs (all negative).

I guess I'm just looking for some answers as to why my period was so awful and wacky this month. It makes me nervous for my next cycle.

if you are getting negative tests than i wouldnt think its a chemical... if you are over a week late and no AF, i would go in for bloodwork at the OB office.. or call you doctor first.

i was over a week late once.. and never am late.. turns out i just had a crazy cycle and it was all normal..

when i had my chemical, i was getting positive pregnancy tests and bleeding at the same time.. so i knew.

When I had a chemical pregnancy, I had 2 positive PG tests and the rest were all negative. I followed up with bloodwork and my hormone levels had dropped. I got a/f about a week later.

So to answer your question, possibly. I would think the only way of truly knowing would be to have some blood drawn through your OB.

when did you start getting the positive PG tests? if you were late and still getting the BFNs, i would think it wasnt unless you started testing late in which case i'd think it was possible you could have gotten a BFP early if that makes sense. i had 2 chemicals (Feb and March) and both times i got BFPs early (9 and 10 DPO) but miscarried by the time i was a couple of days past AF being due so they would have been BFNs by then...

I think yes. I was 2 weeks late with all negative tests, went to the dr had positive blood test, two days later started bleeding really bad, cramps, TMI clots and could barely keep my eyes open. I went back for blood follow up to the positive test and my levels were dropping, my dr said that it was chemical, he could tell by my cycle and where my levels were at. HTH

My doctor told me that most women have chimical pregnancies and don't know it...I had the same thing happen a few months ago...crazy symptoms, late AF and BFN! When I had a doctors visit a few months later he said very nonchalantly that it could be chemical and it happens alot...freaked me out a little...

Yes! Dr. told me the same thing, had a chem back in July then got preggo again in Sept. and it stuck

I read in an article on babyhopes.com once, that chemical pregnancies are more common than people realize, and that 50-60% of 1st pregnancies end in a chemical pregnancy/early mc, and that most of the time a woman doesn't even know about it.

With the invention of HPTs that detect pregnancy sooner, it has created many more cases of chemical pregnancies because women are finding out so early that they are pregnant.
