Dr. Hanauer
Dh and I are not TTC yet but I am in the process of choosing an OBGYN. I heard great things on here about Dr. Hanauer but now am second guessing because i have read the office is very busy, there is an hour wait every time you go for an appointment, they put you on hold for a half hour when you call, etc.
I am kind of reluctant after hearing this because when I am pregnant I would like a doctor who would be accesible.
Please share your experience with her and her office with her and tell me if my concerns are warranted

Re: Dr. Hanauer
In my experience, that all changed when I got I got pregnant. I remember at my first appt (TTC consultation) I waited for almost 2 hours I was livid. Luckily after I met with her I felt that she was totally worth the wait.
I'm not sure if they give the preggos priority, but I never had a problem during pregnancy.
Good Luck!!

Re: Dr. Hanauer
I heard all the same things but everytime I have been there I never wait more than a half hour to see her and when I call, I do get a busy signal a few times but I just keep trying... Everyone is very nice so far and Dr Hanauer is soooooo nice!!!! I definitely reccomend the office and Dr Hanauer.!!! I do hear that when you are prego, to make your appts in advance so you dont have to wait for an appt. good luck!!!!

Re: Dr. Hanauer
At first I was apprehensive about this office. Before I met Dr Hanauer, I hated that there was always a busy signal and the long wait. also, it was so hard to actually get an appt - they are scheduled pretty far in advance (the first few times I went I didnt even get to see her - I saw the RN)... Then, I met her and she is absolutely fantastic! She has the greatest bedside manner!! I am so glad I didnt switch DR's bc of my initial reaction with the office. It may be a busy office and sometimes, the wait is pretty long, but that is partially bc she will spend sooooo much time with you at each appt. I never once felt rushed. She actually keeps asking you if you are SURE you have no more questions for her. She is so easy to talk to!!!!!
ETA: If you are not PG yet, I recommend you make an appt for an annual check-up with her just so that you are an established patient and you get to meet her. Otherwise, if you wait until you are PG to call, you will probably see the RN the first few times.
