He's still not
on 8oz bottles.... A friend of mine was shocked when I said he takes 4, 6oz bottles a day ( and 3 meals- he was taking in the same amount of formula b4 I added in the extra meal..)
He takes one 1-4oz bottle @ night for bed, totally about 27oz a day...is this ok?

Re: He's still not
I don't think it's a problem... some babies are grazers... Alex didn't switch to the 8 ounce bottles until last week! And we were still on the slow nipples! And she still only eats between 4-5 ounces per feeding even if we give her the bigger bottle...

Re: He's still not
My son never did 8 oz bottles and he is a year old. Just recently he started doing a 7-7.5 oz bottle before bed but all other are 6oz. Some babies just don't - I actually think it is pretty common.
Edited to add - not sure how old your baby is but my dr said when they were young 28-32 oz are normal. Once we started solids until maybe about 6 months - she gave me the rule of over 32 oz of formula - more solids. Under 24 oz - less solids. Once we were on 3 meals a day - they may start to dip lower than 24 and that is fine.

Re: He's still not
My son is older an usually only eats 4 sometimes 6. Don't worry even adults don't eat the same way. Aslong as he is gaining weight he knows what he is doing.

Re: He's still not
Michael was a late solid eater, so he was on FIVE 6oz bottles until he was about 8-9 months old when three meals a day kicked in. We just switched him to 3 8oz bottles once I knew he was getting enough with regular food. He was fine on it. Like the other mom's have said - each kid is different, I don't think there's anything wrong with him NOT having 8oz bottles yet or ever for that matter!

Re: He's still not
Emily only averages about 20-24 oz total now that she eats 3 solid meals day. The other day she only had 16oz...I freaked out but just couldn't get her to take more -- yet I know she is growing bc I put her in an outfit today that she only wore on the 11th - her daddy's bday and it seems small on her. I am sure Ryan is doing OK.

Miranda doesn't eat solids (we're just trying now and its not going over too well) and most of her bottles are only 4oz but she still eats about every 3 hours. She gets about 24-26oz in a day but she's still growing.

Re: He's still not
Aidan never drank 8oz either, at his peak he only took 6oz bottles 4-5 a day and by that point he was eating a great deal. He would only drink 6oz at a time no matter what he ended up having for the day.
Its perfectly ok

Re: He's still not
Mine was drinking 8 ounces but not eating very much..
remember as long as they are growing every month, dont pay attention to what "other" babies are doing.
