new to this board, and a question

Hi Ladies
Just thought i'd say hi and introduce myself.

I've just gone off the pill and DH and i are basically doing the 'lets see what happens' routine for a few months.

I do have a question though.. how long does ovulation typically last?
i read the really helpful thread by 'maybeamommy' (wow, thanks for all that) and i'm on day 14 of my cycle now, so should be ovulating, right? But how do i know how long that lasts for?

I haven't been off the pill for a full month yet, so don't know how long my cycle will end up being, and i'm sure i'll be on here asking lots more questions as time goes by!

actual ovulation time from when the egg is released to when it can be fertilized i think is 24 hours. I think thats what i remember reading.

If you're using Ovulation predictors to detect ovulation, the day you get the + or smiley face/line etc, ovulation should be ocurring within 12-36hrs. i believe you then have 24 hrs.

its a small window of time..i just never realized how small.

wait.. so there's technically only one day a month you ovulate and therefore can get pregnant??

hey join my monthlycycles.com you enter when u get ur period so it tells u around the time u ovulate and gives u days u r fertile we did this n it worked. best of luck also try to bd every other day increases r chances of live sperm in u when u ovulate my cousin did this n got preggo best of luck
