Antibiotics & Ovulation

does anyone know if antibiotics interfere with ovulation or TTC? im on CD15 should ovulate any day now but have been sick and want to go to the dr. tomorow and he will probably give me antibiotics. i can wait until i ovulate to start taking them but will they interfere with TTC....i will ask my dr. but any help would be appreciated.

im in the same boat. i was put on antibiotics 2 days before i ovulated. if you think about it...people on the pill who take antibiotics can get pregnant...so i dont think it will hurt. just tell your dr. that you're TTC and theyll put you on a Category B pill. those are safe for pregnancy. its important to keep yourself healthy while TTC.

I spoke with my OB on this. She told me to take the antibiotics. Maybe check with you ob?

All I know is that Antibiotics affect BC... which leads to many pregnancies... I don't think it has as much of an effect on O as an infection in your body would. Does that make sense?

they say anything can affect your O. so i would think there is a possibility you may O late due to the antibiotic. Also if you're sick that can delay you're O as well. HTH.

I actually has a sinus infection early this month and was on an antibiotic for 10 days. I still have yet to O for this cycle. . . I'm on cycle day 28.
