It sounds like you have a hematoma. I had fairly large hematoma on my placenta around 13 weeks and it did bleed out and eventually resolve by 20 weeks. These are fairly common during early pregnancy and in most cases there is no danger to baby. I did not have to go on bedrest and was told to just take it easy and no heavy lifting. I am now 26 weeks PG and everything is fine with me and baby. FM me if you need more info.
ETA: You may want to consult a high risk OB and have tests for a blood clotting disorder just to be safe. HTH
