Switching shoes while commuting
Sorry for the ambiguity.
What I mean is do you wear comfortable shoes for your commute and then switch to heels when you get to work?
If so, what do you wear? Can you post pictures?
I'm finding that between the ice and concrete, heels just aren't the answer.

Re: Switching shoes while commuting
I would NEVER even consider walking all the way across town in stilletos !! Besides the fact that my feet would be a disaster, my shoes would be completely ruined !!!
I wear my UGGS, or rain boots in this weather - In the spring/summer I wear cute sneakers or even flip flops ........
I'm all about what's getting me to/from Penn the fastest and most comfortable,

Re: Switching shoes while commuting
I don't too much in the winter, but in the summer I tend to wear flip flops to commute and then change into sandals.

ITA!!! I wear boots in the winter and in the spring/summer sneakers (Pumas or similar sneakers - not ones I would run in) and sometimes my Reef flip flops.

Re: Switching shoes while commuting
I wear flat boots when it's really cold and sketchers when it's not. The boots are a knock off of Uggs but cheap and they do the trick. I don't think they are a fashion statement but they are warm. In the summer I wore flip flops but I will have to rethink my summer commuting shoes.

Re: Switching shoes while commuting
I see quite a few women at work who come in and leave wearing their pretty heels or stilleto style boots, etc. Then I realize that these are the women who drive in to work, park in the lot adjacent to our building, and basically do not have to walk outside.
As for me, taking two subways and then a NJ train to work and back, there's no way I'd wear heels out. I wear boots in the winter (if there's no snow, then my Uggs, if there's snow or slush, I wear my Columbia snow boots). In the summer, I wear flats, sneakers, or some other type of comfy shoe. And now that we have casual dress at work, I don't always have to change into dressier shoes, so that works out well too.

Re: Switching shoes while commuting
I walk a mile cross-town every day, so there is no way that I am wearing heals! I wear boots or sneakers in the winter, flip flops in the summer, and rain boots when it is wet.

I wear UGGS or boots now. In the summer flip-flops or ballet flats. No way would I hike through the snow and the mile trek across the parking lot in heels!

Re: Switching shoes while commuting
How do you deal with your pants being heel length? Most of my heels are 3-4" and wearing flats with pants is not so great when the pants are way too long for flats!

I myself haven't figured out a good solution to be honest. I would, once in a while, clip them on my way into work with a safety pin, but one day I totally forgot to remove them and I felt so silly for having walked around like that! lol.
