When did you have your shower?
If you did a shower before the birth, when did you have it? My mom is throwing one for me, and while I am extremely grateful, she wanted to throw it 3 weeks before I am due. I thought that was cutting it a little close. I mean, I'll probably be huge and uncomfortable, not to mention I then have to wash clothing, bedding and any other things that I get, plus put away and organize the items (cribs, car seats, etc). I feel like it's just a little too close to my due date. My mom relented and agreed to 5 weeks before my due date, but all the while made me feel like I was being demanding.
Be honest: was I wrong? Is 3 weeks before you are due ok for a shower?

I'd feel the same way you do. Silly mommy, why does she not see your point? Maybe she's throwing you off the trail! 
I would hope mine will be 1-2 months before due date at least.

I think that 5 weeks is much more reasonable. Mine will be when I am 33 weeks.

i think 3 weeks is way too close.
there is, first off - the whole 'discomfort' factor.
then - you need a chance to purchase anything that you didn't get that you will need...and by the time you have 3 weeks left, there are other things that you have to get done (ie: going to the doc every week, etc.)

I had my shower at 36 weeks 1 day and i was very uncomfortable opening gifts adn trying to mingle. I personally would do it earlier if you can. I was trying to organize all the stuff yesturday from the shower and it is exhuasting. Good luck.

My shower for DD was about a month before my Due date. Of course, I went 2 weeks past my due date so it didn't really make a difference.

im having mine 4 weeks before my due date. i have this date because this is the only time my sister will be around (she goes away to college) before the baby is born. it will be close and i will be huge but it will be fine if i make it :)
