Do you pay a co-pay for ultrasounds?

I haven't payed a co-pay in months, because all of my OBGYN visits are considered "well visits". I assumed my ultrasounds were covered, too.

I got a bill for $54 today for 3 $18 ultrasounds from last year...does this sound right? I have Empire insurance, if that helps.

when i went to my dr this year- i have a plan that covers OB pregnancy visits...

however when i went for the 7week visit i had to copay $20 because the company doesnt consider ultrasounds til 8 weeks.... the receptionist told me if i had any ultrasounds outside the normal recommended - that id be looking at a copay again... but since then i only went for a 10w ultrasound, ultrascreen, and level 2 which are all covered

I have empire and, yes, I pay a copay for the ultrasounds.

I have the Empire Plan as well.

For the 3 Ultrasounds I have had I paid the $18 copay for all of them at the time of visit.

I pay $25 co-pay, after my insurance pays the rest.

i have aetna and don't have co pays for the ultrasounds..

I also have empire and I pay for ultrasounds...

I was in the exact position you were in. I have Empire insurance and the doctor's office told me that I pay a one time copay of $18, and that covers all pregnancy visits. Well, I was very surprised when I got billed by the doctor. As it turns out, I have to pay a copayment every time I have an ultrasound. I wish the doctor's office told me about this, especially since the doctor does ultra sounds every visit.

I have empire and i have to pay copays just for sonograms and other testing but all routine pregnancy visits are covered. Though when i see the high risk doc. every week its conisidered a consult so i have to pay every visit.

i have GHI and i only pay one prenatal visit co-pay and one post. as far as ultrasounds we pay 1 copay for each its the diagnostic fee.

I have BC/BS PPO and I dont pay a copay on sonos.

Yes, 20.00 copay for ultrasounds. but i have no copay for the actual dr visit.

I have Empire BC/BS (PPO) and I don't have a copay for sono's.

All of my OB visits are covered but sonograms are $30 copay each time.

Nope, I am having my baby on the NHS so everything is free (okay, so I have paid 10% of my salary for this "free" healthcare, but nonetheless, we won't get a bill or nothing for any of this birthing malarkey!)

that sounds right. like yourself, i don't pay co-pays for the doctor visits, but the ultrasounds are $15.00 each (billed after the fact). I have GHI.

I have UHC and have to pay $15 for each ultrasound.. I was kinda mad that I had to pay a copay for my last one tho.. b/c the tech was a witch and literally only scanned me for a second.


eta: hospital copay for me will be $500.

I have Empire, too. All my visits are covered after just the first co-pay, unless something unusual arises and I need further testing. The Level I & II I'll have to pay the $18 co-pay for.
