when do u do the 1 hour glucose?
i am 15 weeks, just wondering if it would be soon or if i have a while.

between 26-28 weeks. Unless you have a known history in your family of diabetes, or the Dr. thinks you might be at high risk for GD, then they would have you do it earlier.

I just had mine today at 11 weeks, but I have a family history of Type 1 in my immediate family, so my OB wanted to test me early just in case.

I took it at 27 weeks. Usually you take it around there unless you are already high risk (like having GD in a past pregnancy or having a family history of diabetes).

my mom mother was a diabetic and my mom had gestational diabetes.

Is your OB aware of your family history with Diabetes?
Also, men pass on the gene more often than women. So, if your dad was diabetic they may have wanted to test you sooner. Since its your mom, theres less of a chance that she passed it on to you, so they may test you at the normal time. At least, this is what my OB explained to me (my dad and brother are both diabetic).

My maternal grandfather had it and it's in my mom's family, although she doesnt have it herself.
Would this make me "at-risk"?

It may depend on your Dr. My maternal grandfather and his sister had it, and while I was told it would put me at a higher risk, I was told also it wouldn't necessarily mean I would get GD, but that it could put me at a higher risk of Type 2 later on in life. They did not have me test early because of it.
