Listen to this...

I'm in a wedding in 3 weeks and my Dr. says i can't dye my hair until after 12 weeks. I completely understand why but it is still killing me. Do I have any alternatives, maybe a glaze?

Re: Listen to this...

im in the same boat, im in a wedding in a month and a half - at which time ill be 14 weeks soo maybe just maybe i can get away with it but DH is really against me dying my hair the entire pregnancy Chat Icon lucky for me i dyed my hair when i was in my 2ww period so i got a fresh new look :)

eta: you can also talk to your stylist, sometimes they can make a certain hairdo where you cant see that much roots, for me it works when i have curls or big waves

I used th vegetable dye when I was 6 weeks-worked well. It is called Naturcolor and i bought it at the health food store in Babylon on Deer Park Ave right before Montauk Hwy

Re: Listen to this...

You can use a veggie based dye-I am sure Aveda salons would have it. Or use a shampoo that deposits color. Aveda carries a line, as does Clairol, which you may find in beauty supplies. If I chat with my hair girl today, which I might, i will def ask!

I would take a look in a beauty supply and ask for temporary solutions-they should know how to help!

Re: Listen to this...

I get highlights and low lights. It doesn't touch the scalp so isn't an issue.

Re: Listen to this...

Personally, I just dealt w/ it - and I'm pretty vain Chat Icon so while it killed me, what could you do?

- will your hair be up? - If you do something more messy/curly it will be a lot less obvious than if your hair is pin straight -
I had the same problem when I was 1st PG - I had put off my highlights for SO long, then found out I was PG so I had to wait ANOTHER 3 months - and I was a bridesmaid during that time ........

ITA. If you are near a Wild by Nature they have several lines of safe veggie dyes in stock.

Although there are a ton of varying opinions regarding this from Drs and stylists(as evidence by the responses here) I would not go against your Drs orders and I would ask about the veggie dyes.

Re: Listen to this...

My doctor said to avoid all hair dye during the first tri. I dyed mine at 14 weeks exactly, right after the first tri.

Re: Listen to this...

buy the hair powder with the colored tint. it will be good for updo's anyway - it gives your hair that dirty feel so it will hold better.
bumble and bumble makes the one i use - it comes in brownish, blondish, reddish, etc. spray it right at the roots of your hair and it blends the color in. hth

Re: Listen to this...

Don't they have vegetable dyes? Also can you highlight, it doesn't touch the root like a permanent does.
