i just went off bc after 5+ years. Just "going with the flow" the first month and TTC. Trying not to get too stressed, and trying not to get too hopeful (all at once). It is alot to take in.
My doct suggested that i be off the pill for about 3 months, just to get a feel for how my body reacts, and to get an understanding of what my body is doing. I am not even off one month and already overanalyzing everything!!

It is recommended to wait 3 cycles. But you can try before that if you want.

i don't think its a set thing--it depends on your body. you can always start TTC right after you go off BCP. if it happens---it happens! but you should make an appt. with your OB/GYN and maybe discuss what they think, since thye know your history better.
i've been off approx. 3 mos now, but i was on for nearly 11 years. we just kind of started not using anything right after i got off bcp..figured might as well start trying!

this is only my 4th month off the pill. when i first went off, my dr told me that everyones bodies are different and react differently. so i can try asap but not to be disappointed if it didnt happen right away. some people get pg as soon as soon as they go off. i wish i was that lucky lol!

Doctors seem to give different advice about this. Some say to wait a few months while others say you can try right away. I was on the pill for 9 years and my doctor said we could start TTC as soon as I went off the pill. I was very lucky and got pregnant the month after I stopped taking the pill. Good luck!

Ditto
The reason to wait is just to see your cycles, not to 'get' the BCP out of your system. It leaves your system as soon as you stop taking it (which is why if you skip even just 2 days during the 28 you should use alternate protection against pregnancy).

My doctor suggested to wait three months. His reason was to allow my body to Ovl. on it's own and to make sure threre was no problems. I am coming off next month and starting TTC in May. GL!!
