Women that are lates 30's/early 40's
Do you find it impossible right now to find your "style"? I just got back from my second outing to the mall and cannot find one thing that I like. I like to try and dress a little hip (but not like a 20 year old), but everything is either too frumpy or too young. I tried everywhere - Macy's, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic - I didn't like anything. I'm just so frustrated right now because I really need new clothes!!!

I find that I need to stay with "classic" lines. A-line skirts, etc... I get the "trendy" pieces with jewerly and handbags.

I agree that it's a challenge sometimes. all the clothes that I have been buying lately are all for work, so that's pretty easy to find. but casual clothes is another story. so I stick to jeans and sweaters on weekends

That's a great idea. I never thought of this.
I usually have luck with clothes from JC Penney.

I'm 31 but I feel sorta the same way...I keep everything very very basic and then accessorize etc. I keep everything pretty simple. I do feel like a nerd though, I'm the only person between the ages of 13 and 40 who does not own a pair of Uggs.

Re: Women that are lates 30's/early 40's
I'm 31 and I have such a hard time finding clothes that fit me AND are "age appropriate". Lately, I've been doing most of my shopping at Banana and J. Crew for work. Weekend clothes on the other hand.... what a pain in the butt to find!

Did you look in the Michael Kors Section of Macys? His stuff is fashionable, yet not too young/trendy and not frumpy.
Also you might have luck in Bloomingdales Also try Theory. They have great pants.

I felt the same way, until I went to marshalls last month and found all these great fitted, short-sleeve, long torso (they go to like mid hip) sweaters. They are a wool/angora type yarn and I love them. they have tons- all different style - cowl neck, turtleneck, scoop neck, V-neck, mock turtleneck, crew neck.
