Brazilian Hair Straightening....
Who's done it? There is a salon by me offering it for $99. Sounds like a good price to me.
How long did it last?
Could you really just step out of the shower and let your hair air dry? No frizz? No major styling?
Would you do it again? If no - why not?

I've been debating this for a long time but my hair is highlighted so i dont know if i can get it

I've heard color/highlighted hair can get it.
Salon is in Amityville. Not sure where you live.

just becareful with the orice. itll start at $99 depending on how thick and long your hair is itll go up.
and btw LOVE the brazillian. i had my girlfriend do it at my salon. it looks fabulous! and very easy to maintain!

$99 sounds about right. In the places where some of my friends have gotten it, they paid about that price.
I am probably going to get it within the next couple of weeks, its not bad for your hair like the Japanese treatment. In my place they are charging me $75 since I have been going there for years.

I gt JHS b/c I wanted a permanant change. The Brazilian's semi-permanant, usually lasting 3-6 months. I was also quoted $300 by several salons for the Brazilian treatment. It's safe for color-treated hair. That $99 sounds like a great deal!

I had it done in July and my hair is still pretty straight. There is a little bit of maintnence to straighten but not nearly as much as before. I'm not sure I will do it again, simply becuase as much as I love it straight, and I do, I miss my curls sometimes too. I wish there was a shampoo and conditioner that would allow for the same effect only on the days that you use them. I would love that.
Anyway, as far as the $99 goes, that is a great price. I don't know that I would let someone I don't really know straigten my hair though. I would be a little more cautious. It's not like a bad haircut that can be fixed.

can you share the name of the place? i had my hair JHS last summer in Queens and as you can imagine, I need it desperately now but I can't find time to make the trip to Queens again. I'd love a place closer. If you go, can you post about your experience too? TIA

if its the salon in amityville that I'm thinking of (self image) I don't believe its JHS, its the other process that uses formaldehyde- which I'm nervous to have done, I have read a lot of bad things on it since there is no set amount per each person and that chemical is extremely dangerous to breath in, and usual salons are not ventilated correctly for the use of it

I get it done. It costed me about $300 the first 2 times since my hair was longer then,now its a bit shorter so it's around $250. Its AMAZING - ilove it and it's so easy to maintain. I go about every 3 to 4 months and I have both highlighted and colored hair and it actually improves my hair texture.
imo beware the $99 price tag
