Awesome. How is the brazilian? I heard it was heavy chemicals. What did you think about it? I've been getting Japanese, but I don't want permanent anymore.

Re: brazilian hair straightening- salons?

I was told the chemicals are much less harsh than the japanese.
I have never had japanese hair straightening. My hair is frizzy and wavy not really curly. I was tired of blow drying it and flat ironing it and then feeling it looked all fried. The first 4 days of not being able to wash it or tie it back was pure hell. At first when I was styling my hair I was not thrilled because I thought the front looked TOO flat but now that I have a handle on it I love it. It looks so shiny and healthy and it seriously takes me not eve 5 minutes to style my hair. If I just wash it and dont blow dry it, it still has a wave to it so it is not pin straight which I like. It still holds a curl if I want it to. The only thing I had to change was my shampoo but I bought that right at the salon. I have gotten compliments on how healthy and shiny my hair now looks and I feel like I no longer struggle with it. I originally thought I would just blow dry it and it would be perfectly styled--well that isnt the truth, I still have to just spend a few minutes shaping the top and the ends but no where near as much time as before and I am always happier with the results. It only lasts 4 months so if you hate it, you dont have to live with it for too long. I definitly think I will get it done again.

Re: brazilian hair straightening- salons?

there is formaldehyde in the brazillian straightening solution.

Enchante Salon & Spa in Smithtown does it.

Re: brazilian hair straightening- salons?

I got it done and thought it was a little expensive for something that only lasts a few months. Please post soem what you paid and the length of your hair. You don't have to say where you had it done.

Thanks!

Hmmm, I'm confused about what this wave will look like. I like the front to be straight, otherwise it looks funky. In all honestly, I think I will try it because I kind of want to go back to curly and right now my hair is half straight and half curly and it's lookin' totally ugly.
