I miss the BCP
Ever since going off of the BCP my face is as greasy and spotty as a pepperoni pizza and I'm bloating like a whale staring in my mid-cycle. This blows. I spent Tuesday afternoon picking out Clearasil products with chatty 13-year-old girls next to me. Yes, that's right. I have the zits of a teenager. I just keep telling myself that the end result will be well worth all of it.

Keep the end in sight.
Your body will adjust itself after a few months off the pill.

If only I were that hopeful. I've been off it since July and I had bad skin before I ever went on the pill.

i promise - it's just the initial 'lack of hormones' right now.... your skin will adjust. as the saying goes, 'it has to get worse before it gets better'.
i LOVE the Aveeno acne skin line if that helps...
also - warning - once you get a BFP - ALL the acne comes BACK....and you are then limited on products you can use...

Re: I miss the BCP
I was on it from age 15 until I was 27. The first 4 months off were horrendous! I was bloated, my face was a mess like it was when I was younger, I was cranky and grumpy, the whole 9 yards.
Trust me, it DOES get better! THe pill has all types of crazy thngs in it. This is just your body's way of adjusting - it has to balance itself out.
I swear by Neutrogena products for breakouts, btw!

Re: I miss the BCP
I have been off the patch for over 16 months and I still breakout. I breakout worse now than when I was a teenager!! It's embarrassing at times. And I feel like MAC makeup doesn't help. So I am now starting to look for a better makeup line anyone have suggestions?
It doesn't help my job is EXTREMELY stressful. I have yet to find products that help either...

really?? i never thought about that but it makes sense. So when you are PG you can't use certain types of face wash or acne products? Please explain further...Do you mean things with sacyilic (sp?) acid and benzol? or prescribed creams and facewashes?

you have FM - but once you become pregnant - what you put on your body that can be absorbed into the skin becomes VERY important.
