Has anyone's hair ever been RUINED??...

And what have you done to get it back to the way it used to be???

My hair has always been pretty nice. I have it highlighted and blow it out all the time but have always kept it in good shape and healthy. I had a great hairdresser in NY.

Now, since living here I have had nothing but trouble with my hair. I can not seem to find a good hairdresser AT ALL. The one person I thought I'd give a second shot to ... RUINED MY HAIR!!! Now it is thin and breaking and I am so upset over it. In August I went back to NY and immediately saw my hairdresser. She 'fixed it up".. but could not reverse the damage. Now that I am here... I am in the same situation.

Has this ever happened to anyone? I am so afraid of doing anything to it. I was going to just it grow a little more and keep cutiing it while doing treatments 1x a week.

Can you reccomend products or routines that you have done to help ??

TIA

Re: Has anyone's hair ever been RUINED??...

i used to do olive oil treatments once a week for MONTHS leading up to my wedding - i think that def helped my hair become smoother and less damaged

i basically covered my hair in olive oil (paying attention to the ends) and let it sit for about 10 mins. then i would put a shower cap on & take a shower making sure to make it a little extra steamy so the oil heats up. at the end of the shower i would rinse the oil & then shampoo & condition as usual. sometimes i added drops of lavander oil to the olice oil... they say that is supossed to help repair the hair also

as for products, the only thing that has worked for me is pantene pro-v.... nothing else keeps my hair as smooth and protected Chat Icon

This happened to me. Never had problems with my forever hair lady.
When Fh and I started getting serious I started going to his mom as she does hair and she is a cos teacher. After awhile I noticed my hair was getting damaged and thin. I stopped going to my FMIL about 4 months ago and back to my forever lady and my hair has been significantly better.
I don't do any treatments on my hair. I use biolage and Goldwell for color. I switch them on and off. Biolage is a great product.

I have been using Aveda Damage remedy shampoo and conditioner and It's a 10 leave in treatment. They are both great!. I highly recommend. Both are pricey but really worth it.

I had a bad perm many many moons ago and the only thing that repaired it was Infusium leave in conditioner--great stuff!!
