BRU Registry
Now I'm a novice to all of this but if there are so many problems with the BRU registry, why do so many people use it? It seems like there are always problems with it so why not go to BBB instead?

Re: BRU Registry
I'm not using it...and I'm out of state so there is no BBB.
Instead we are doing a registry on Amazon and at a local baby store.
I HATE BRU

Re: BRU Registry
BRU is the only store near me (in CT) and near my friends and family (in NY). I haven't really had any problems with BRU although I haven't tried to return anything.

Re: BRU Registry
I like BBB and I did register with them the first time I was PG, but a lot of people want to go into a store to buy the items and not everyone lives near a BBB.
This time we registered at Amazon.

Re: BRU Registry
We registered at BBB and almost everyone went there and bought off the registry.

Re: BRU Registry
I prefer BBB over BRU. The problem is that there are not many BBB around. I had to do the majority of my registry on BRU because of this.

Same here. I figured I rather give people a place to buy from a registry than no registry, to just purchase random things (which is worse than getting a few duplicates of items you actually did want).
I registered at BBB and NO ONE bought anything other than immediate family who bought our big items there. So everyone will automatically buy from BRU due to many locations and an easy to purchase from website. Not everyone buys online these days, esp older people who are attending a shower.

This is true. It's the reason I put anything on their registry although most of my items are at bbb. After heraing all the negative stories though I want to take everything off and just register at bbb and maybe amazon
I am telling everybody about the 20% Bed Bath and Bayond coupons that you could now use at Buy Buy Baby hopefully that will make them go there

Re: BRU Registry
There are only 4 BBBs in NY, they are only in 5 states total nationwide.
BRU has approx 20 locations in NY & they have hundreds of locations in almost every state. BRU is just more convenient people to get to. I'd rather deal with BRU then have people buying me random gifts from random places that I won't be able to return or exchange at all.
BRU knows that this is the situation & they use it to their advantage. They know we have limited options and we will register with them regardless of how bad their customer service. It is the price we pay for offering our gift givers some convenience...
