Is it true re: the Bugaboo stroller?
That I won't need another stroller?
My cousin said it's good for infants and toddlers up to 40 lbs and she swears by hers ..........and there's some kind of attachment you can buy w/ a specific car seat (Graco I think?) to use the Bugaboo frame kind of like a Snap & go thing for when the baby is small??
I'm trying to research this stuff, but this is my 1st and I'm admitedly CLUELESS about babies !! -
I mean, how old is a 40 lb kid? How old is a kid when you stop using a stroller for him/her?
I have no idea !!!!

Re: Is it true re: the Bugaboo stroller?
We are torn between the Bugaboo and the Orbit.
The sales associate told us that the Bugaboo has a $40 accessory that allows most car seats to snap and go with the Bugaboo Cameleon.
My main hesitation with the Bugaboo is that it seemed like you needed two hands to fold the stroller. I sort of wanted one that I could fold with just one hand.

Hmmm. Good point. I'll have to pay attention to the one hand/two hand thing now too !!

Re: Is it true re: the Bugaboo stroller?
That is one of the reasons why we are getting the Bugaboo..... I only want 1 stroller.
By the time the kid is 40lbs there is NO WAY they are going to want to be in a stroller!

Re: Is it true re: the Bugaboo stroller?
I don't think its true, its great with a small baby, but I found with mine that by the time my son was about 15 months old, he was almost too tall for the seat. The seat is too short for a toddler. I loved it while he was a baby, I used it with my car seat for a long time, I used it with the seat for another six months, and then, I tried a Maclaren, and I put my bug into storage. And for me, the two pieces is a pain in the arse, you get used to it, but if you are hopping around stores, its a pain to get in and out of the trunk. But you do get used to it.
I see a billion kids riding around in bugaboos with their heads sticking over the top of the hood. They are great, but be prepared. Other people might not agree, but this was my experience with my Bugaboo. I can't wait to use it with my next baby.
This is what I mean...

Re: Is it true re: the Bugaboo stroller?
I'm a one stroller person too and am getting the Bugaboo Bee 'cus it can fold as one piece and it's not as pricey as the other Bugaboo strollers at $530.
There are also lotsa great features like it's very sturdy, has adjustable handles, has rear and front facing seats, is lightweight and you can use the Graco Snugride infant car seat with it.
40 lbs. is about 4 years old. By age 3-4, your kid will likely not want to sit in a stroller anyway so it's not going to be a huge deal.

Re: Is it true re: the Bugaboo stroller?
honestly, I was all about light weight stuff- you have some much stuff to lug around- I used the snap and go w/ the car seat and then went right to a maclaren when DD was about 6 months and it was fine.

I agree- except we went from our snap and go to a Baby Jogger. Cheaper than a Bugaboo but still a wonderful ride.

We are just getting the Bug Cameleon and I guess an umbrella stroller for later, just for something that can travel easily.

Re: Is it true re: the Bugaboo stroller?
Marisa, Paul and I did tons of research on strollers and found that the Chicco Cortina Travel system was the way to go. We just purchased another stroller by Baby jogger (city mini) for when we travel.
I love my Chicco!!

Re: Is it true re: the Bugaboo stroller?
my kid's head is touching the top of bug, he's 28 lbs.
He will stay in there though because I love it that much.
I have that, a jogger, and a mcclaren. I keep Mc in my car...we bought it as our "disney" stroller and missed the bug the entire time.
the jogger was because DH felt the bug was taking a beating with us jogging with it.
I have the 40.00 connector...I bought it used for 30.00
I would never in a million years wheel the mcclaren around the neighborhood over the bug. It hits every single bump.

Re: Is it true re: the Bugaboo stroller?
The bugaboo Cameleon is longer than the frog i think... We have the Cameleon and i love it. DS is 13 mos, 23lbs and almost31 inch and stll fits in it with no problems so i can't speak to how it will be when he is double that!
i did get the graco attachment for the carseat even though it could attach to the bugaboo b/c it was much smaller, very light and quick and cheap. Other than that, I have not bought another stroller - i have a peg perego that a friend gave me but i have never really used it. i LOVE our stroller!
