The gym

Since ive gotten BFP on Wed, ive been petrified to workout. I KNOW its ok to workout, but i feel like its so early and like i can shake things up in there. I know its stupid and i know i need to stay active and in shape.

Im giving up Spinning although i heard thats ok too as long as you keep heart rate down.
I think light cardio on an elliptical should be fine right??

That would DEF be fine! Your doc will prob tell you that you can continue to do whatever you have been doing but don't start doing anything that you haven't!!

ITA, just get a heartrate monitor to stay under 140 and dont start anything new (so dont wait too long or you wont be able to start up again!) It's actually good for you and the baby so go for it!

if you're worried, you can always call your OB's office and get the thumbs up for your particular routines....

Re: The gym

honestly, I have not gone as much as I thought I would. Right now, I am in the lazy I haven't been in a while, how can I make the time, not part of my routine stage. I gotta get back into it.

Keep going now-- do what feels comfortable and keep your HR under 140. I was SOOO tired in the first tri, I couldn't get there-- but if I pushed myself, I probably could have.

Re: The gym

According to my OB, if you were sctive before getting your BFP and keeping your HR over 140 was the norm for you during your regular workout, there is absolutely NO reason to stop.

She said the "under 140" thing is dated thinkiing.

My point is- ask your OB about HR.

BTW- my SIL took spin until she was about 35 weeks and stopped ONLY because she was sick of all the comments and stares she got from fellow spinners.....

Same here, i worked out everyday before getting pregnant and Dr. said to continue doing whatever regimen I was used to doing. Of course, I slowed it down a bit.

Exactly - if you all ready exercise, than continue. If you don't normally - don't start

Re: The gym

My ob just said it's important to keep my heart rate under 140. Anything over that deprives the baby of blood & oxygen b/c my body would be too busy rushing blood to my heart.
