Birth Announcements
Im REALLY not being rude here or insulting. This is a REAL and TRUE question that ive just been curious about.
What is the purpose of birth announcements? Whenever i get one, i already know that the baby was born, its name, etc. Why do people send these?
Again, im not being judgmental, i just wanted to get your thoughts.

I like doing it because there are family and friends that I don't see often and I would like them to see a picture of my baby. I like getting them

Not everyone sees the baby or gets to come over, so it's nice to send them out to people. Plus, who doesn't love a picture of a baby?

Boy i must really be dense this morning. Knowing full-well theres a pic of the baby on it, never thought, hey maybe people want a pic of the baby.

I love getting them. Its a way for people to see the baby even if they werent able to in person, and a way to welcome this new little life into the world.

Honestly, I think it's to shout from the rooftops "We have a baby!!" I love getting them, and from the feedback I got, people enjoyed getting ours.

I love getting them. It's a tradition and a formality. In a way, it is not much different from getting a thank you card even after the person may have said "thank you."

Agreed. It's a way to show those who can't visit immediately your new child. It also helps people keep in touch, as i know I won't be able to inform every single person when I have the baby.
